Here at Lawsons Yard we love to keep things traditional and in keeping with the reclaimed timber we use so its great to be able to use floor wax on some of our projects. These boards are being fitted in a Grade 2 listed town house and the boards had to look original. We push the use of wax whenever we can because the sheen, smell and feel of a waxed floor is second to none. A waxed floor is not suitable for areas where water is often spilled on them such as kitchens and bathrooms but other rooms are fine. There is a certain amount of extra maintenance and care but the results are certainly worth it. Areas of high wear can be easily re - waxed and buffed. It will all blend in together. The more wax added the deeper the sheen and the more protection given.
